Seating is somewhat limited, so you may have to wait for a table during peak hours. That said, the cozy atmosphere and prime location make it a convenient place to stop for a sweet treat, breakfast, brunch, or a light meal while sightseeing.

Before you even order a crêpe, Crêperie Maison Bagatelle catches your attention with its beautiful entrance and artistic décor. The moment you walk through the door, you feel as though you've stepped into another era. The interior has a strong French-inspired style, with details that remind me of 17th-century France and the elegance of the Belle Époque.
If you love elegant hanging chandeliers, sophisticated artwork, and vintage-inspired interiors, this is a dessert shop you'll want to experience. The space has a romantic and refined character, with beautiful furnishings and decorative touches that make it feel unlike your typical crêperie.
I especially enjoyed the antique-inspired mirrors and stunning artwork, which give the restaurant plenty of personality. The chandeliers add a soft, warm glow, while the vintage furnishings create a comfortable setting where you can sit back and enjoy your crêpe. It's also a beautiful space for photos, with plenty of unique details to discover.
For me, the atmosphere is a big part of what makes Maison Bagatelle special. If you're exploring Old Montreal and want to enjoy a crêpe somewhere with character, comfort, and a touch of old-world French charm, this is definitely a place worth visiting.
My Food & Experience at Crêperie Maison Bagatelle
During my visit to Crêperie Maison Bagatelle, I arrived during peak hours, and the restaurant was completely at capacity. Unfortunately, there were no seats available, so I didn't get the opportunity to sit down and order one of their famous crêpes. Instead, I decided to try their ice cream, and I'm glad I did!
I ordered a small cup with one scoop for $6.50 before taxes and chose the blueberry cheesecake flavour. It was absolutely delicious. The flavour was a 10/10, and I was impressed by how generous they were with the ingredients. The blueberry and cheesecake flavours came through beautifully, making it a rich and satisfying treat. Even though I didn't get to try a crêpe during this visit, the ice cream definitely left a great impression.
If you're planning to visit for the crêpes, the menu is divided into sweet and savoury sections, giving you plenty of options to choose from. The sweet crêpes start at $14.95 and include flavours such as Nutella, Strawberry, Exotic Canadian Delight, and Caramelized Nuts. These are perfect if you're craving something indulgent after exploring Old Montreal.
The savoury crêpes start at $16.95 and include options such as Florentine, Vegetarian, Complete, Big N Good, and Norwegian Catch. I like that there is a good variety on both sides of the menu, whether you prefer a sweet dessert-style crêpe or something more filling for lunch.
Although I wasn't able to sit down and enjoy a crêpe during my visit because the restaurant was so busy, the experience still gave me a great impression of Maison Bagatelle. The blueberry cheesecake ice cream was excellent, the portions were generous, and the atmosphere was beautiful. I'll definitely be returning to try the crêpes on my next visit.

The least expensive bagel is the classic bagel with cream cheese, priced at $6.95 before taxes, while the smoked salmon bagel costs $16.95 before taxes. When stopping in, expect to pay a little more than you might at similar cafés elsewhere in Montreal. You're right in the heart of the Old Port, where prices for everyday items can be higher due to the location and the large number of tourists visiting the area.
For me, Maison Bagatelle is more of a place to indulge while exploring Old Montreal rather than somewhere I'd visit every day. The beautiful setting, convenient location, and variety of crêpes, desserts, and light meals make it worth checking out, but it's a good idea to keep the higher tourist-area prices in mind when planning your visit.
