If you’re searching for some of the finest char siu, roasted duck, and BBQ chicken in Montréal, you’ve come to the right place. Allow me to introduce you to Dak Hing Barbeque 大興燒烤場, a Cantonese restaurant that deserves a spot on your must-try list.
Located in Côte-des-Neiges at 4705 Avenue Van Horne, Dak Hing Barbeque is conveniently located just a short walk from Plamondon Metro Station (Van Horne Avenue exit), making it easily accessible for both locals and visitors exploring Montréal’s diverse food scene.
Dak Hing Barbeque is a family-owned restaurant that has perfected its char siu over the years. Their dedication to quality and tradition shows in every dish they serve. The quality of the food has consistently remained high, and the customer service has always been exceptional during my visits.
I have always left this restaurant satisfied, not only because of the delicious flavours but also because of the generous portions and affordable prices. Whether you are craving authentic Cantonese BBQ or looking to discover one of Montréal’s hidden food gems, Dak Hing Barbeque is a restaurant worth experiencing. 大興燒烤外賣廣東餐廳,主打燒鴨、雞肉、豬肉菜式,配飯同蔬菜。
This cosy restaurant can easily be overlooked, as it is tucked away on Van Horne Avenue. However, I must emphasise that the food is truly delicious and deserves to be discovered. Over the years, my go-to meal has consistently been the roasted duck, which comes with a side of rice and vegetables.
The duck is, without a doubt, one of the best I have ever tasted. It is always roasted to perfection, with beautifully crispy skin that adds incredible texture and flavour to every bite. The balance between the tender meat and crispy exterior is what makes this dish so memorable.
The best part is that this meal is only $11.99 (taxes included), making it an incredible value for the quality and portion size. The serving is generous enough to satisfy two people, especially with the plentiful portion of rice included. For anyone looking for authentic Cantonese BBQ in Montréal, Dak Hing Barbeque is a hidden gem that delivers delicious food at an affordable price.

During my most recent visit, I decided to try their combo meal, which allows you to choose two types of meat served with rice and vegetables. The price for this meal was $15.99, making it another affordable option at Dak Hing Barbeque.
For my selection, I chose the roasted duck and BBQ pork. While I have always considered the roasted duck to be my favourite, I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the BBQ pork. The flavours were excellent, and it was a great reminder that sometimes stepping outside of your usual order can lead to a new favourite dish.
Although the roasted duck remains a classic choice for me, the BBQ pork definitely impressed me and has now become another item I would recommend trying during your visit.
