Restaurant Ruby Rouge Montreal | Best Dim Sum in Chinatown

One thing you’ll find in no shortage in Montreal’s Chinatown is delicious food! From traditional dim sum and tempting dessert shops to hand-pulled noodles and flavorful Peking duck, this vibrant neighbourhood is packed with options for every craving. I’ve visited almost every shop in Chinatown and have always been on the hunt for delicious Peking duck.

Today, we’re visiting Ruby Rouge, a popular dining destination in Montreal’s Chinatown, known for its Peking duck, BBQ pork, and delicious dim sum. Whether you’re searching for a spot to enjoy a traditional Chinese meal with family and friends or hoping to satisfy your cravings for authentic Chinese cuisine, Ruby Rouge is a restaurant worth exploring. Let’s take a closer look at what’s on the menu!

Located at 1008 Rue Clark, Montréal, QC H2Z 1J9, Ruby Rouge is approximately a five-minute walk from Place-d’Armes Metro station, making it a convenient stop when exploring Chinatown. Inside, you’ll find an attractive, spacious dining area with a grand, banquet-style atmosphere, making it well suited for group gatherings, family meals, and celebrations.

Let’s Talk Menu & Pricing!

I visited Ruby Rouge during lunchtime, giving me the opportunity to browse the menu and check out their daily lunch specials. I was pleasantly surprised by how affordable the options were! Roasted pork served with rice and vegetables was just $8.99, while the duck lunch special was $9.99.

If you’re craving a little variety, mixed-meat dishes started at $11.99, and half a duck with rice was approximately $19.99. All prices were before taxes, making Ruby Rouge an appealing option for an affordable Chinese lunch in Montreal’s Chinatown.

I ended up ordering the Peking duck with rice and veggies. My total, including taxes, came to around $12. Honestly, this was a solid 8/10. The duck was perfect; it was tender yet crispy at the same time. The accompanying sauce complemented it well. The only thing that was a miss for me was the vegetables, as they were very salty.
