The Mount Gay Rum Distillery tour is a must-try. I did this tour a few years ago and had an amazing time. The distillery is grand, and the tour was educational and fun. We got a full history, as Barbados is the founder of rum. This tour was very affordable, and the guide got a solid 10/10 for me. The best part was the free samples of rum and the full tasting experience.
When booking this tour, transportation is not available, and guests must be 18 years and older. All guests are asked to wear a t-shirt with sleeves (long or short) and enclosed shoes (such as sneakers, loafers, or Crocs).

The one event you must not miss when visiting Barbados is Grand Kadooment. This carnival is held each year in August. It starts in Bridgetown and ends at Kensington Oval.
This annual event marks the end of the sugarcane harvest and features a large street parade with colourful costumes, music, and dancing. There are tons of masquerade bands that participate each year and line the streets for a full day of fun. Kadooment 2026 will be held on August 3rd.
