Oistins Fish Fry A Must-Try In Barbados
Barbados is known for its friendly locals, beautiful beaches, and delicious food. The island has a rich history and is noted as being the birthplace of rum and having the best crop over carnivals each year. There are tons of activities to do on the island; many enjoy visiting Harrison's Cave, Nicolas Abbey, and spending Friday nights at Oistins Fish Fry.
. Located in Oistins in the parish of Christ Church, this local event happens every week and attracts tourists and locals to feast on delicious fish and cocktails and experience local art from some of the best artists on the island. Oistins Fish Fry features dozens of food vendors selling local drinks, making it difficult to choose just one. I recently visited with my family and had a wonderful time. We were a group of around 12, from exploring the vibrant markets to immersing ourselves in the rich culture through local festivals.

Oistins Fish Fry Dinner And Drink Menu
*Please note that prices may vary; it’s advisable to check the menu at each restaurant before placing an order.*
So let's talk about the food and drinks! No matter which vendor you choose, the food is exceptional and the service is 10/10. The menus at Oistins are all on full display, and the staff will walk over and hand you a copy. The prices range from $30 to $50 depending on the stall and what you order.
Most menus feature grilled fish, shrimp, lobster, and various drinks. We ended up settling on the restaurant Dora & Jazzie; we had to wait around 5-10 minutes for a table to clear, as we were a large group of 12. I ended up getting the swordfish for $35 a plate. It came with a side of fries, salad, and macaroni salad. Honestly! I love Bajan food, and dinner was a solid 10/10. My only regret is that I did not order a second plate to go.
The fish was delicious, and the fries and macaroni salad were just as excellent. I highly recommend ordering this dish, as it was worth every penny. I can’t wait to return and explore more of the menu, as I’m sure there are many other dishes that will impress just as much!
Each stall sells soft drinks and beer. The price ranges from $3 to $110 depending on what you purchase. There are also other vendors that sell alcoholic drinks and cocktails; the price for those starts at $5 for a small glass and $10 for the large.
A variety of rum is also sold, including the island's very own Mount Gay Rum, Cockspur Gold Rum, and Eclipse Rum. I tried several of their cocktails, and they were all delicious. The price was very affordable compared to the bars on the island. The lively atmosphere, combined with the friendly service, made my experience even more enjoyable.
