Buboy has since moved from its original location on Monkland Avenue to Chinatown Montreal, at 1071 Rue Saint-Urbain, R-14, Montréal, QC. The restaurant is conveniently less than a 5-minute walk from Place-d'Armes Metro station, making it an easy stop when exploring Chinatown.
Buboy has certainly set the bar high and showcases the delicious flavours and comforting dishes that make traditional Filipino food so special. Whether you're already a fan of Filipino cuisine or trying it for the first time, Buboy is a restaurant worth discovering.

For places people may not know about.
When you walk into the Place du Quartier building, Buboy is easy to spot. The restaurant offers seating for individuals as well as small groups of approximately 2–4 people, making it a comfortable spot whether you're dining alone or enjoying a meal with friends or family. The menu has a whole new look, and several dishes were added to the selection. I am a visual person, so I really appreciate that Buboy has added pictures alongside some of their dishes. This makes it much easier for customers to see what they're ordering and discover something new.
The menu is conveniently broken down by meats, including chicken, pork, and beef, with each category featuring a selection of entrées and sandwiches. You'll also find noodles and some of Buboy's classic Filipino favourites, including their Lechon Kare Kare, which I have personally tried and highly recommend. If you're new to Filipino cuisine, the photos and organized menu make it easy to explore the different dishes and find something that catches your eye.

Buboy also sells an assortment of delicious Filipino desserts and freshly baked goods. Not only is the food delicious at Buboy, but the desserts are worth trying as well. I tried a few of their dessert options during my visits, and here are my takes on each one.
Ube Crinkles
I am a huge fan of ube, also known as purple yam, so these were the first on my list to try. The ube crinkles were not too sweet, slightly firm on the outside, and soft on the inside. I really enjoyed the texture and flavour and would definitely order these again.
Double Chocolate Cookies
I then tried the Double Chocolate Cookie, which was delicious. The cookie is thick, rich, and very chocolatey, making it a great choice for chocolate lovers. It is also quite large and could easily be shared between two people. I recommend enjoying this double chocolate cookie with a nice cup of hot tea or coffee.
Bibingka
Last on my list was the Bibingka, which turned out to be my least favourite item among the three that I ordered. However, if you enjoy coconut and prefer treats that are more savoury or less sweet, this might be a good option for you. It's also a wonderful opportunity to experience a traditional Filipino dessert.
