Keep reading to discover what I tried, what I thought, and why this North African restaurant deserves a spot on your Montreal dining list.
The menu at Menthe Et Couscous features a tempting selection of appetizers, main dishes, and desserts, giving you plenty of options to explore. Since we were a group of four, it was the perfect opportunity to order several dishes and sample some of the restaurant’s popular offerings.
To start, we tried the Moussaka Dip and the Treat for Two. Both appetizers arrived beautifully presented, with generous portions and fresh ingredients. The Treat for Two was especially well-plated and gave us a chance to enjoy a variety of flavours in one dish.
The Moussaka Dip was served with freshly baked bread, which was absolutely perfect for dipping into the creamy and flavorful mixture. Everything tasted fresh, and both appetizers made a great start to our meal.
For my main course, I decided to try the Chicken Skewers, priced at $37.50. The dish arrived with two large, beautifully cooked chicken skewers, couscous, salad, vegetables, and a savoury sauce that paired perfectly with the chicken.
The first thing I noticed was the incredible aroma. As soon as the dish arrived, the smell and presentation caught my attention. The chicken was cooked to perfection—tender, juicy, and packed with flavour. The couscous was equally delicious, and the accompanying sauce added another layer of savoury flavour that brought everything together.
The portion was also very generous. In my opinion, there was more than enough food to comfortably feed two people, making this entrée a great option to share.
Menthe Et Couscous really perfected these chicken skewers, and I absolutely loved them. If there’s one entrée I would highly recommend trying at Menthe Et Couscous, the chicken skewers should definitely be on your list! 🍢✨⭐ My rating: 10/10
Saving Room for Dessert
Dessert has always been my favourite part of any meal, and thankfully, Menthe Et Couscous did not disappoint! We had the opportunity to sample several desserts from their menu, and here is my honest take. The first dessert that truly stood out to me was the Sweet Cheese with Cream.
The dessert was soft, delicate, and absolutely delightful. The cream was light, fluffy, and pleasantly sweet without being overpowering. It was the ideal combination of creamy and sweet, making it one of my favourite treats of the evening.
We also had the opportunity to sample Kunafa, Baklava, and the Birouates; all three were delicious. I really enjoyed the variety of traditional-inspired sweets and getting to experience several different flavours and textures in one sitting.
To complete our evening meal, we were served fresh mint tea in beautiful traditional teaware. The warm and refreshing tea was the perfect way to end our dinner and added an authentic touch to the overall dining experience. If you have a sweet tooth like me, I definitely recommend saving room for dessert at Menthe Et Couscous!

Final Thoughts on Menthe Et Couscous
Menthe Et Couscous should definitely be on your restaurant bucket list! From the delicious food and unique North African flavours to the beautiful décor and incredible entertainment, there was so much to love about my experience.
The staff was friendly, welcoming, and made us feel comfortable throughout our visit. This was actually my first time trying North African food, and I absolutely loved it! The flavours were unique, aromatic, and inspiring, and I enjoyed discovering dishes that were new to me.
I also loved the décor and seating arrangement. The restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere that works beautifully for different occasions. Whether you’re planning a date night, dinner with friends, a special celebration, or a meal with a large group, Menthe Et Couscous offers a setting that can accommodate it all.
And of course, I have to mention the belly dancing! 💃 The performance was superb, lively, and very engaging. It added an exciting element to the evening and made the experience feel like much more than just a dinner.
Depending on what you order, I would recommend budgeting approximately $50 to $120 per person. While I absolutely loved my experience, Menthe Et Couscous is on the pricier side. That said, you’re not only paying for the food—you're also getting the atmosphere, entertainment, and overall dining experience.
