Pigeon Café Monkland | A Cozy Spot for Coffee and Brunch in Montréal

Pigeon Café Monkland | A Cozy Spot for Coffee and Brunch in Montréal

A popular café in Monkland Village, Pigeon Café boasts a versatile menu that includes delicious drinks, brunch, and lunch options, all complemented by a spacious outdoor patio.

One of the top spots on Monkland Ave for an excellent brunch, refreshing iced lattes, and a lovely patio is Pigeon Café. I visit every summer, and it’s a place I always recommend to friends and family.

The menu at Pigeon Café truly stands out for its diversity and abundance of excellent options. I often find myself ordering their vanilla latte, pancakes, and the well-known shakshuka, which is among their most popular dishes. This dish was intriguing; it wasn't exactly what I expected in terms of flavour, but I enjoyed it nonetheless. The combination of pine nuts, roasted red pepper, and halloumi really caught my attention.

My go-to drink has always been the vanilla latte. Pigeon Café has perfected this beverage—it is not too sweet, just perfect. One of my favourite items is their blueberry pancakes, which are nice and fluffy on the inside while being a little crisp on the outside. Pigeon Cafe’s smoked salmon is another much-sought-after dish and can be bought for one or a small group of two.

Why I Recommend Pigeon Café

Pigeon Café in Monkland Village has become one of my favourite places to enjoy a great meal and coffee. From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed by a friendly and attentive team that makes every visit enjoyable. The café's spacious outdoor patio is a real highlight, offering the perfect place to relax while taking in the charming atmosphere of Monkland Village. Combined with delicious food, quality coffee, and reasonable prices, it's an easy place to recommend to both locals and visitors.

I look forward to returning to Pigeon Café to explore more of its menu. Based on my experience, I would happily rate the food, service, and overall dining experience 8 out of 10. If you're spending time in downtown Montréal, Pigeon Café also has a second location at 1392 De Maisonneuve West, featuring another inviting outdoor patio and a more streamlined menu.
