Chicken Enchiladas – $21
Served with tomatillo sauce, iceberg lettuce, queso fresco, and crema, the chicken enchiladas were my choice during my first visit to Sabrosa. Since it was my first time dining at the restaurant, I wasn't sure what to expect from the menu. While the selection isn't extensive, I decided to play it safe and order the classic chicken enchiladas. One thing that immediately stood out was the prompt service. My meal arrived quickly, allowing me to begin enjoying my dining experience without a long wait.
As the dish was placed on the table, the aroma was incredible and instantly made me eager to dig in. Although I found the portion to be smaller than I had expected for a $21 entrée, the flavors did not disappoint. The chicken was well prepared, and the tomatillo sauce, queso fresco, and crema complemented the dish beautifully, creating a satisfying balance of flavors in every bite.
Overall, I enjoyed the meal and appreciated the presentation, fresh ingredients, and attentive service. While I would have liked a more generous portion, the quality and taste made for an enjoyable first experience. My overall rating for the Chicken Enchiladas is 7/10.
Pasión—$12—Passion fruit and mango purée, lemon, agave, chamoy, and Tajín
The passion drink was beautifully presented and immediately caught my attention. The vibrant colors and thoughtful garnish made it look refreshing and full of tropical flavour, leaving me excited to give it a try.
Unfortunately, it wasn't a favorite of mine. The Tajín seasoning was more prominent than I expected, overpowering the passion fruit and mango flavors. I had hoped the sweetness and tanginess of the fruit would be the star of the drink, but with each sip, the spice became the dominant flavour.
Although this particular beverage wasn't suited to my personal taste, those who enjoy bold, tangy drinks with a spicy kick may appreciate it much more than I did. Presentation-wise, it was excellent, but for me, the flavour combination didn't quite meet my expectations.
.
Overall, I enjoyed my first visit to Sabrosa and would happily return to explore more of the menu. While the Pasión drink wasn't quite to my taste, I did enjoy the chicken enchiladas and appreciated the restaurant's welcoming atmosphere and prompt service.
