Vieux-Port Steakhouse is one of my favourite restaurants in Old Port Montréal. Famous for its aged steaks, delicious cocktails, and charming atmosphere, this restaurant is truly a must-visit destination for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable dining experience in the heart of Old Montréal.
Located at 39 Rue Saint-Paul E, Vieux-Port Steakhouse is easy to find thanks to its iconic décor and beautiful historic surroundings. The restaurant perfectly fits the character of Old Montréal, combining a classic steakhouse feel with the charm and energy of one of the city’s most popular neighbourhoods. For those travelling by public transportation, the restaurant is conveniently located approximately a 10-minute walk from both Place-d’Armes Metro Station and Champ-de-Mars Metro Station, making it an easy stop while exploring the Old Port area.
I have visited Vieux-Port Steakhouse several times over the years and have always enjoyed both the food and the service. The welcoming atmosphere, attentive staff, and quality dishes are some of the reasons I continue to return. During the warmer months, guests can also enjoy their beautiful outdoor patios. Vieux-Port Steakhouse features two patio areas — one in the front and another in the back — providing different atmospheres to enjoy a meal, a cocktail, and the lively surroundings of Old Montréal.

My Dining Experience at Vieux-Port Steakhouse
During my most recent visit, I stopped by Vieux-Port Steakhouse for lunch and ordered the grilled salmon with wild rice and vegetables. To complement my meal, I paired it with the François Lurton Terra Sena and Syrah Languedoc-Roussillon 2019 wines, which added an extra touch to the overall dining experience.
The dish was absolutely delicious. The salmon was cooked perfectly, with a tender texture and great flavour, while the lemon sauce complemented the fish beautifully. The combination of the fresh ingredients, carefully prepared dish, and elegant presentation made this a memorable meal.
