Now, let's talk about the menu. At first glance, it may look fairly simple, but don't let that fool you. Hiccups & Churroholic offers a great selection of appetizers, noodle dishes, drinks, churros, and desserts, with something for everyone. Since this was my first visit, I really appreciated that the menu included photos of many of the dishes, which made it much easier to decide what to order.
To start, I chose the Hiccup Wings tossed in garlic Parmesan sauce, served with a side of fries. The fries earned a solid 7/10. While they weren't homemade, they were perfectly crispy on the outside and passed my crunch test.
The real standout, however, was the garlic Parmesan wings. They were easily some of the best wings I've had. Each wing was perfectly crispy, juicy on the inside, and coated in a rich garlic Parmesan sauce that was flavorful without being too heavy or overpowering. The balance of seasoning and texture made this dish an easy favorite, and I would definitely order it again on my next visit.
Pink Flamingo Drink
To complement my meal, I ordered the Pink Flamingo, a refreshing Strawberry-Peach Green Tea served with real strawberry pieces and strawberry jelly, all hand-shaken and poured over ice.
This drink was light, fruity, and incredibly refreshing. The combination of sweet strawberries and juicy peach blended perfectly with the green tea, creating a balanced flavor that wasn't overly sweet. The fresh strawberry pieces and chewy strawberry jelly added a fun texture, making every sip enjoyable. If you're looking for a refreshing drink to pair with your meal or simply want something cool on a warm Florida day, I would definitely recommend giving the Pink Flamingo a try.
Dessert
To finish my meal, I ordered the Churro Combo, which was served with a scoop of ice cream. The dessert was warm, fresh, and satisfying, with crispy churros coated in cinnamon sugar that paired nicely with the creamy ice cream.
At $8.95, I personally felt the portion was a little small for the price. Even so, I enjoyed the dessert and thought it was a delicious way to end the meal. If you're craving something sweet after your entrée, the Churro Combo is worth trying, and I'd happily order it again on a future visit.
Overall, Hiccups & Churroholic is a hidden gem in Tampa that I would happily visit again. Based on my first experience, I give this restaurant a solid 8/10. I expect that rating could increase once I have the opportunity to try more of their menu, as there were several dishes and desserts that caught my attention.
I enjoyed the crispy garlic Parmesan wings, the refreshing Pink Flamingo tea, and the relaxing outdoor patio overlooking the small lake. The staff were incredibly friendly, the restaurant was clean and welcoming, and the ordering process was quick and easy.
One thing to note is that although the restaurant offers comfortable dine-in seating, all orders are placed and paid for at the front register before your food is prepared and brought to your table.
If you're visiting Tampa, Florida, or live in the surrounding area, I definitely recommend stopping by Hiccups & Churroholic at 13030 N Dale Mabry Highway, Tampa, FL. Whether you're craving flavorful Asian fusion dishes, refreshing specialty drinks, or freshly made churros, this restaurant is well worth adding to your list of places to eat in Tampa.
