The Keg Steakhouse + Bar - Place Ville Marie

One of the most popular restaurants in Montreal is The Keg Steakhouse + Bar. This establishment has been serving the city for over 20 years and operates two locations in downtown Montreal: one in the Old Port and the other in Place Ville Marie. The Keg is renowned for its delicious steak, seafood combinations, appetizers, soups, and desserts.

The Keg Place Ville Marie boasts an impressive rating of 4.6 stars on Google, with over 3,000 reviews from satisfied patrons. One of its main attractions is the outdoor patio, which is open from late spring through early fall. The restaurant features a spacious interior adorned with beautiful décor. It offers seating options for both large and small groups, as well as a bar area. In addition to its inviting atmosphere, the restaurant has a bar lounge that enhances the dining experience for guests. The staff is exceptional and committed to delivering outstanding service, making each visit a memorable experience. Put the Keg on your bucket list of places to visit this year, bookmark this page, and comment with your favourite dish.

  • comes with bacon bits

  • romaine, creamy dressing, grana padano, toasted panko

    +9 for the chicken breast

  • crushed pistachios, maple butter, garlic mashed potato, broccoli

I have dined at The Keg numerous times over the years. In the past, the items that particularly impressed me included the chicken and ribs, the Keg Caesar salad, the iceberg wedge, baked brie, and the classic Billy Miner pie. The menu is traditional, and the quality of the food has remained consistently high over the years. During my last visit, I ordered the mango daiquiri, pistachio salmon, Caesar salad with chicken, and a loaded baked potato. First let's talk about the salad and chicken. It was a solid 7.5/10. The salad was good; adding the chicken breast was a great idea, as it enhanced the taste. The twice-baked potato was a solid 10/10.

The potatoes were toasted yet soft and creamy on the inside. Definitely one of the best that I have had at any restaurant in Montreal. The pistachio salmon is always a solid dish to order; it is served alongside veggies and garlic mashed potatoes. The pistachio crust noticeably enhances this dish, a solid 10/10. Lastly, I ordered a mango drink that was refreshing, not too sweet or sour. If you're looking for a non-alcoholic beverage, then this drink is a solid option.

  • tomato, crispy smoked bacon, dill ranch or blue cheese dressing

One of the standout salads on the menu at the Keg Steakhouse + Bar is the Iceberg Wedge, which currently costs $15.00. I have ordered it several times and absolutely love it. This salad features romaine lettuce, a creamy dressing, grana padano cheese, and toasted panko. It is quite filling and pairs wonderfully with a variety of entrées. The combination of the toasted panko and creamy dressing truly makes this dish a classic at the Keg.

  • mocha ice cream, chocolate crust, fudge, caramel, almonds

The dessert menu at the Keg includes options such as crème brûlée, cheesecake, and the Keg dessert platter. However, the only dessert I have consistently indulged in over the years is the Billy Miner pie. I order it during every visit and thoroughly enjoy it. The pie consists of mocha ice cream, a chocolate crust, fudge, caramel, and almonds. Solid 10/10, hands down the best.
